Apple Cinnamon Dutch Baby Pancake

Fix up a quick and easy dessert that pairs perfectly with a cozy afternoon or get-together with friends. The Apple Cinnamon Dutch Baby Pancake takes less than an hour to make and bake in a Lodge pre-seasoned cast iron skillet from Coastal, and even less time to enjoy with syrup right out of the oven. A list of ingredients and directions can be found below the video.

Ingredients (Dish)

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2-3 medium sized Gala apples (thinly sliced)
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 eggs

Ingredients (Topping)

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions

Add the butter to your 12” cast iron skillet and place it in the oven. Now, pre-heat the oven to 400º F.

While the oven heats up and the butter melts, slice apples thinly and set aside.

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, milk, and eggs. Whisk until smooth.

In a small bowl, combine topping ingredients (cinnamon and sugar).

Remove the skillet from the oven and place the sliced applies into the bottom of the pan. Pour egg mixture over apples. Top with cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Bake in the over for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffy.

Enjoy with syrup or serve plain.
